Modest by design, fierce in colour
Nottebohm Revisited | Book design
For a beautiful hidden library in Antwerp, we wanted to make a book which asks to be picked up. That is why the book is so cute – so small and brightly coloured. Its colours are those of the capital of fashion and the printing press: orange and red. The book is a very tangible object: the paper used for the cover is heavily structured and the lettering plays with the contrast between red screen print and laser cut. On the inside we used two types of paper to distinguish between the introductory pages and the main part of the book: a set of lemmata linked to (what do you mean?) the Hendrick Concience Library.
